MISSIONARY NEWS – July 2008 Jerry
& Linda Yonnie - Arizona Jerry completed his
degree in Biblical Counseling in May at Calvary Bible College. Pray that God will give him wisdom as he pastors and oversees
missionaries laboring in the Southwest U.S. Martin
& Yannick Jalbert – Word of Life Quebec There are 31 Bible
students along with 4 former students at Bethel Bible Institute.
Snow Camps were a success this past winter despite a big snowstorm.
The biggest day of camp ever was held in March of this year. Walt
Croom – Military Evangelism – North Carolina The center in North Carolina is now open and serving soldiers
at Camp LeJeune. The Aberdeen,
Maryland office will continue to be open for the time being until Walt moves
down to North Carolina. Fred
& Barbara Kornis – Kansas Fred went to Nicaragua
in February and a three week trip to India in March. Both trips were very successful.
The annual Heartland International Missions Conference was held after
that with many traveling great distances to be in attendance. Paul
Meehan – Hungary Paul spent ten days with
a German prison ministry team doing evangelism in prisons in Budapest and
Hungary. Hundreds of tracts
continue to be distributed throughout the streets of Budapest and through
other ministries. The
Peters Family – India Steven recently visited the newly planted church in the state of Manipur in northeast India. They are meeting in a building in the center of the city with about fifty young people gathering in worship. The school in Belgaum continues to grow. The graduating class achieved 100% on their government final exam – the 6th year in a row! The new school in Bharathiya Vidya Nikethan is now open and admissions are coming in great number. Harry
& Ruth Johnson – Tanzania There are now only three
of seven assemblies in the refugee camps operating in Tanzania because of
voluntary repatriation and the closing of four camps. Brook Ford has returned after six months in the states.
She has been commended by her home assembly for another two years to
help the Johnsons. One of this
year’s goals is to visit the fifteen villages where the Johnson’s have
established churches. Joseph
Adejoh – Nigeria Preparations are being
made for this year’s Child Evangelism Camp in August. Last year 617 children attended and 101 gave their lives to
the Lord. The van Joseph is
using for travel is in need of major body work and new tires. Also, money is needed for food, medicine, teaching aids and
transportation for the CEF camp. Jim
& Jean Gillett – Ireland & Nigeria The Aids for Bible Education catalog has been printed and will
be distributed all schools in Ireland and Northern Ireland by the end of
August. Students in Irish
government schools (Catholic) receive credit for studying God’s Word.
Jim is planning to travel to Nigeria in September to spend some time
at Haven of Hope and assist the administrator there.
He will also distribute funds to needy believers. Bert
& Debbie Oubre – Cutting Edge Foundation – SC The hospital in Chad is
completed and the fourteen bed ward will be completed soon.
The focus is now on equipping the hospital and recruiting medical
staff. Nicanor
& Elizabeth Tamang – India They recently traveled to Nepal for three weeks in June. Nicanor spoke at the Lydia Vocational Center graduation service in June. Nicanor had a car accident in May but was not severely injured although the right side of his car was damaged. |
